Herbal Tarot Reading ~ New Moon in Aquarius, Tues 20th Jan 2015

Welcome to your New Moon in Aquarius Herbal Astro Tarot Reading! This month your gift is coming to you from sunny Penang Island in Malaysia, where I am enjoying a visit with my dear parents who retired here almost 13 years ago.

This is the third New Moon reading I have enjoyed offering on this blog and loving the feedback I have been receiving, so this year I intend to offer these every new moon for the year ahead.

The New Moon invites us to set new intentions for the cycle ahead. When it falls in Aquarius, the emphasis is particularly in trying out something new, innovative and out of the ordinary.

As Aquarius is an air sign, it's a good time to explore our mental realms and make a stand for your own unique version of self expression. It's a fantastic inspirational challenge while we are still basking in the refreshing newness of 2015, with a brand new year on our doorstep.

If you have taken part in my earlier readings you will know that I combine my holistic herbal practice into the readings so you can also look forward to some natural health and wellness tips to support whatever card reading you intuitively choose.

In today's reading I am using the Shadowscape Tarot that were gifted to me by a wonderful friend and herbalist tarot reader friend, Elly.

So now onto your reading...

********

Take a moment to relax and
sit comfortably where you are...

Inhale a few deep breaths into
your heart, closing your eyes...

Allow your intention for the
next lunar cycle to come to mind...

Ask for any guidance that would be
supportive for you to receive right now...

When you're ready, open your eyes...

Choose a card, then click on the number of the card you feel most drawn to:

New Moon Aquarius Herbal Tarot ~ Card no 1

New Moon in Aquarius Herbal Tarot Reading

You chose card no 1 ~ The Chariot

The Chariot shows a woman standing upright dressed in protective armour in a winged chariot drawn by two white unicorns. They have already come far on their journey from the ethereal kingdom in the clouds down to sea level where they are poised ready to enter a new stage in their journey, from the realm of air into the ocean.

Under the water is a crab resting on a moon disc, the guardian of a shin golden orb of energy deep in the watery depths. Five ancient wise turtles circle around the crab and orb as their wise protectors.

This card often appears when you are already well on your way of a magical adventure of discovery whose origins began in a moment of inspiration. It encourages a moment to take stock of the journey so far. To prepare to reach your goal you have previously had to get organised and planned out the various stages, knowing that there may be hidden obstacles and unknowns to contend with.

Now is the time brace yourself for here for a new stage in your journey. This requires you to summon the warrior courage, confidence and energy to embark on what is to come, taking a moment for some deep breaths and reflection on the lessons of previous successes and challenges that may be brought to this present moment.

You're readying yourself before you forge forward again, plunging into uncharted waters and new depths. Remember that you can always draw on the support of your guides, protectors and companions whenever you may veer unexpectedly off course. Take time to rest up and repair to resource yourself for your current mission and get back on track with renewed vigour and optimism.

A Natural Remedy Tip
for Weary Travellers to Get Back on Track

Ginger is a fantastic re-energising remedy to help you get back in balance while on your travels, whether taken boiled up fresh as a tea, drops of herbal tincture diluted in water, chewed raw in slices, as crystallised chewy or hard sweets.

Ginger is a classic remedy to aid digestion, relieving nausea from indigestion, sea sickness, travel sickness, morning sickness, or dizziness. It's a gently warming circulatory stimulant that helps settle the stomach, energise, and steel the nerves to continue moving forward towards your destination.

Try buying some fresh ginger to add to curries and stir fries. I also love cutting long raw slices and adding it to infuse with a bottle or jug of water to sip on throughout the day as a reviving pick-me-up.

New Moon Aquarius Herbal Tarot ~ Card no 2

New Moon in Aquarius Herbal Tarot Reading

You chose card no 2 ~ Two of Pentacles

The Two of Pentacles shows a dancing juggler playing with two large golden coins, perfectly balanced on a precipice overlooking high mountain peaks. He's perfectly calm and nimble in his flowing movements surrounded by his flying faerie friends. His monkey companion is sitting peacefully at his feet, so still that a golden butterfly perches on his nose.

When a pentacle card appears in a reading, this encourages you to pay attention to earthly matters, such as money and security. While this can be a heavy and difficult area for many, the character shows that getting into balance in this area can also be light and fun if you intend it to be so and focus your attention here.

Allow your relationship with money and stability to become a dance of flowing energy that feels joyful and uplifting. Remember that we have guides and helpers around us that we can tune into and get in touch with to support us when our flow becomes blocked. The high peaks suggest a fresh perspective that can bring light and healing to any issues in this areas.

The monkey, usually symbolic of hyperactive physical and mental actions, is sitting quietly demonstrating that even the wildest of minds can be trained and simply by being calm, delightful gifts and abundance can come almost without effort, manifesting in joyful and magical ways.

You may find opportunities to take a lighter, more playful approaches to finances and stability arise easily just now. Try out some meditative sitting or movement to shift any stuck thinking in these areas. You might end up surprising yourself and inspiring others in turn.

A Natural Remedy Tip
for Meditation, Calm and Flexibility

Frankincense is a precious tree sap resin and remedy with many benefits. The scent of Frankincense alone as incense or essential oil helps to calm the mind and deepen breathing, a perfect complement to enhance a meditative state.

Taken internally as capsules or diluted in water as a water tincture, it can help not only help promote a more relaxed state, but it is also used in traditional herbal medicine as an anti inflammatory to joints and muscle tissue, and tonic to the respiratory system. Frankincense can encourage increased strength, flexibility and easier breathing.

As a well known sacred herb and gift from one of the three wise men on the occasion of Jesus' birth, this golden coloured plant extract also has energetic connections with giving, receiving and abundance.

New Moon Aquarius Herbal Tarot ~ Card no 3

New Moon in Aquarius Herbal Tarot Reading

You chose card no 3 ~ King of Cups

"Under the sea... Under the sea... everything's better, down where it's wetter, under the sea"
That little ditty from The Little Mermaid cartoon came to mind when I turned over this card and it brought a smile to my face, so I couldn't resist putting it here :)

The King of Cups rules the water element, representing the realm of emotions and feelings. He's pictured in this card upright and rising up out of billowing tangles of seaweed, with two trusty turtle companions by his side, and a seahorse reporting for duty. The King holds a majestic golden chalice, absolutely full to overflowing, naturally being held in the depths of the ocean.

Kings represent mastery. This card depicts a master of emotions. He is skilled in the art of love and relationships, having experienced the many ups and downs through his life journey and application to growth in this area. He demonstrates an emotional and intuitive maturity rarely seen in others.

It's particularly interesting to observe a mature male figure to symbolise developed emotional awareness, as the realm of emotions is more commonly linked to the feminine. Here, the focus is on a more masculine presentation of handling emotions, such as having kind and loving boundaries in your relationship with yourself and others, giving and receiving in equal measure to honour, respect your time and energy.

This card may also appear to encourage us to seek out role models with these sorts of qualities, male or female, as guides or inspirational leaders on your own path to emotional mastery. If anyone of this description comes to mind, perhaps seek them or their work out for advice, guidance or mentoring.

If you yourself, identify with this character, you may consider reaching out to others to share valuable lessons learned in how to relate better to others. What you have to offer is worthy and important to those on a similar path just now.

A Natural Remedy Tip
to Strengthen and Bring Balance

The first herb that came to mind was of course a seaweed. In particular, Kelp that is widely used as a natural health supplement and edible, rich in nutritious minerals promoting healthy organs and tissue repair. Kelp is rich in iodine which is nourishing to the thyroid, a gland that helps our body maintain healthy energy and metabolism.

If our energy levels are out of balance and pushed to extremes, it may be beneficial to take Kelp and other seaweeds as a supplement or in food to ensure and adequate mineral and nutritional intake to nourish the excess demands on our body.

This is important alongside addressing and rebalancing the relevant areas in our life to deeply honour our time and energy with self and others in a balanced way

We may need to grow emotionally and be kind, but firm with ourselves to do so. If we can take this level of self care to heart, the rewards for self and everyone around you will be great and nourishing on every level for body, mind and soul.

The Joy of Gifting ~ Yule Tarot Blog Hop

Happy winter solstice to you my friend! Here in Scotland it is the darkest day of the year.

I hope you are keeping well where ever in the world you may be reading this from. In this special seasonal post, you'll find my contribution to this year's Yule Tarot Blog Hop.

We are a tarot reader bloggers community that celebrates our different approaches while exploring a chosen topic in our own individual way. With each blog hop, the community focuses on a seasonal topic, all posting at the same time Sunday 21st December 2014, 18:00 GMT. You'll be able to view my fellow contributors' posts by clicking the previous, master and next links above and below.

This year we were given the following as our Yule Tarot Blog Hop Topic
Yule, Hanukah, Christmas, Kwanzaa, Solstice, Winter. Whatever you call this time of year, it is a season of gift giving, gift receiving and sharing with family and friends for a majority of the world. Whether Papa Noel brings you a candy cane or the Winter Witch brings you switches, it’s a time of anticipation. The anticipation of what I might be getting and what I am giving are equal joys for me. To that end, here is a spread for each of us to do.
The Joy Of Gifting
To set up for the reading, I selected some items to create a sacred space and evoke the sense of warm winter festivities: glass christmas baubles in shades of red, white and green, locally foraged ivy & pine cones, a red candle representing all four elements (solid wax - earth, melted wax - water, flame - fire & space around - air).

To bring more energy to the theme of Joyful Gifting, I also chose items that had been gifted to me. A purple scarf given to my sister by my mother to wear with her outfit at my recent wedding, which has in turn been gifted from my sister to me. Purple is one of my favourite colours!

On top of that I lay a white silk scarf with the 8 ashtamangala (ashta = 8, mangala = auspicious) buddhist symbols. This was gifted to me by my first buddhist teacher, Ven. Kelsang Tharchin, at the end of a Medicine Buddha empowerment in the Forest of Ae, Dumfries & Galloway where I used to frequently spend weekends on meditation retreats.

I am eternally grateful to him for all his love and guidance on my spiritual journey. He helped me to deepen my respect and skillful offering of tarot, guiding me to always motivate my readings with love, compassion and wisdom, relying on the spiritual guide-ess and protector-ess at my heart and all around me, the female Buddha Arya Tara ~ a powerful gift that infuses into every tarot reading I have given since.

I chose my current favourite pack, the Shadowscape Tarot. These cards were joyfully gifted to me by my gorgeous herbalist tarot reader friend to thank me for hosting her when she came to visit from her home in Ireland. I love them! Thank you again, Elly.

Here are the cards I drew...

A Swords card (4 of Swords), a Pentacles card (Page of Pentacles),
2 Major Arcana cards (The Hermit & Death) & a Cups card (6 of Cups)

To view a better quality version of these cards on
Stephanie Pui-Mun Law's (creator of Shadowscape Tarot) website,

**********

1. What gift would you give the world if you could? ~ 4 of Swords

The 4 of Swords shows a woman reclining with her eyes closed, under a white sheet, 3 swords under and over her head and one sword on top of her body, her movement restricted. It appears that she is floating with pink lotus flowers blooming around her.

What gift would I give the world if I could?

It's interesting that this card came up for me as I work in the healing professions as a holistic herbalist and massage therapist. Often people choose to visit me after a long period of neglecting their health and well being, sometimes when they have come to the end of conventional treatment, or still not experiencing sufficient results with avenues they have tried and seeking a new approach.

So many people in modern society are stressed, burning the candle at both ends and exhausted. We know this is not sustainable, but it can be so hard to just stop and change pace, give our physical vessels the sacred care and sustenance it needs.

Eventually our body or circumstance takes charge and helps us return to balance by becoming ill or debilitated, forcing us to slow down and reassess where we have become out of balance.

When we get ill we gain an opportunity to take a step back from our everyday lives, to take space and time out to rest and heal, so that with the right care and time we may receive physical, mental, emotional and spiritual energy, strength and freedom of movement in return.

If I could, the gift I would give to each and everyone the world would be a heartfelt realisation of the preciousness of our human lives. I would like you to know how valuable the gifts you bring to the world truly are, and encourage you to treat your body as a temple ~ ideally before you get unwell, but especially when you do.

**********

2. What gift would you want from the world? ~ Page of Pentacles

The Page of Pentacles card shows a young person sitting in nature on top of a rock, around which a slumbering dragon is resting around. Enchanted creatures whisper messages and guidance from the roots, stones and greenery. His companion, a peaceful wise owl is on the look out.

What gift do I want from the world?

The Page is a first in the sequence of Page, Knight, Queen, King - at the apprentice stage on a journey to mastering a particular aspect, in this case the Pentacles representing the earth element, themes of stability, security, home, money management.

So this card suggests a gift I could be giving myself is an opportunity to reassess the handle I have on these areas in my life. Be open minded to a fresh approach, be willing to learn again, go back to basics and start again from the foundations, building upwards from there.

This certainly does resonate with me. Anyone who knows me well, I think, would agree. In the past couple of years, I have been working with various mentors and coaches to help me grow my heart-centered business, transform my relationship with money and release some of the negative associations I have had with it.

This has been eye opening and transforming. I'm learning that money is not necessarily a replacement for love, or 'the root of all evil', but simply energy that can flow and bring many benefits to improve the lives of many who truly need it.

Another way I am interpreting this card is to tune more into my inner child and allow her to become more playful. Certainly in the past month or two, I have been receiving support and guidance to do just this. In the card, little faces in the plants, minerals and animals are there to offer support and guidance on life's journey.

As we grow older, for some a cynicism and reluctance to tune into a more enchanted world can set in. This has certainly been true for me in the past. More and more now, my heart and soul has been retuning to its child-like essence, opening to a more playful communication with the elements and learning to listen to nature's wise whispers.

**********

3. What gift have you gotten that has brought you joy? ~ IX The Hermit

The Hermit card shows an intrepid traveller looking out from an impossibly high and treacherous peak, higher even than a flock of birds flying below her feet, gazing towards the heavens, stars almost within reach. She holds the lamp of wisdom to light her journey. Now that she has reached the top, her journey continues back down towards the earth where she can share the wise stories and insights of her adventure with others.

What gift have I been given that has brought me joy?

Although to some this card may appear quite lonely and bleak, to an independent, soul searching, free spirit like myself, this solitary figure standing on the top of the world embodies a blissful state.

Time and space to myself to day dream, doodle, write, meditate, walk, create, retreat on my own, contemplate the stars, and look within. This brings me a great deal of peace of mind and sense of joyfulness. I'm incredibly grateful and fortunate to have had the means, personal will, and encounters with others to have led me to solo adventures where I have learned so much about myself and the world.

I used to think there was something wrong with me that I love and crave my own company so much, now I realise it's a beautiful quality about myself that I celebrate.

A message that the Hermit card brings is what goes up must come down. All the wisdom gained and lessons learned on my journeys are gifts to share with others in the community, in society and with the world.

This gift has been given to me by myself, my personal choices, my parents, family members, my husband, my friends. Time alone for me to be me, space and silence for inspiration to flow in and hear the voice of wisdom within and all around me.

**********

4. What gift have you given that has brought you joy? ~ XIII Death

The Death card is a bright swirl of orange, red and yellow. Like a phoenix rising resplendent from ashes, a woman with open heart and arms is shape shifting into a fiery bird-like creature, completely transformed from her former existence and ready to begin a new journey of empowerment. On a branch below, an egg holds a new bird, symbolising that new life springs from the falling away of the old.

What gift have I given that has brought me joy?

The Death card is one that many people fear in the tarot. To me there is something energising and powerful about what Death symbolises which is an essential part of the cycle of birth, life, death and rebirth.

When I was doing my final year of BSc Herbal Medicine, my grandmother had suffered a stroke and died after many months of paralysis and inability to speak, being cared for by her children. This period before her passing was a real opportunity for them to return just a small part of the vast ocean of love she had devoted to them.

I chose to focus on Herbal Medicine to Support Grief in Life Threatening Illness as my dissertation research project. This choice was very much influenced by my need to nurture my own feelings of losing my dear grandmother, and to explore ways to support others and my future clients using natural methods when they go through this inevitable period with their loved ones.

Today I feel very comfortable in creating a safe space for others to express and allow healing of difficult emotions in whatever way they might experience it, mentally, physically or emotionally. Death is an area that many shy away from but for me, it brings me joy to be able to offer comfort to people's range of emotions in the process of this transitional time.

**********

5. What is one last thing you would like to share about this season. ~ 6 of Cups

The 6 of Cups card shows girl in an enchanted forest, hosting a tea party for her teddies and woodland creature friends. Symbolising a reconnection with the inner child and homecoming, re-visiting your childhood hopes and dreams.

What is one last thing I would like to share about this season.

At this time of year, many of us are preparing to reunite with our family members, returning to our roots, sparking up family memories of long ago, both pleasant and less so. The 6 of Cups reminds us of the importance of reconnecting from time to time with our past, to heal our grievances, to allow forgiveness in and make space in our hearts again for child like innocence.

Lately, I have been encouraged to reconnect with the little girl within, the hurt crying child, equally as much with the bright and laughing child. In this festive season, charged with a mixed roller coaster of feelings and emotions, I would like to remind you to flow like the water element (symbolised by the Cups) around painful memories, around any resistance to difficult communication in relationships, and be open to a softening in your heart.

Somewhere in our psyche is a place of innocence where hurts can be healed and hearts can feel open and trusting again. Spend some time reflecting there this solstice time.

**********

On the day of this posting, I will be gifting my knowledge of Sacred Herbs and Teas and enjoying a Celebration of the Sacred Day at The Salisbury Centre, a beautiful meditation and holistic well being centre open to people of all faiths and none, that is close to the hearts of many spiritually minded souls here in Edinburgh. The centre is also special to my husband and I as we were married there earlier this year in spring.

Like the Tarot Blog Hop Community, The Salisbury Centre embraces the wise and loving essence of all traditions, religious or non-religious, a sentiment that I infuse in the readings I offer to those who wish them.

I will take a moment today to send abundant blessings to all the blog readers who are taking the time to read this, wishing you peaceful hearts and profound gifts of love and wisdom. I thank you for the kind thoughts I am receiving in return :)

I hope you find my tarot musings on The Joy of Gifting of benefit to your life at this time.

Your Herbal Tarot Reading ~ New Moon in Sagittarius, Sat 22nd Nov '14

Today I'm gifting you with a one card herbal tarot reading to celebrate the new moon in Sagittarius.

The new moon is a time when the night sky is at its darkest, also known as the black moon, so it's a good time to refocus, gain clarity of vision, create and initiate a plan for the next phase ahead.

With the new moon in fiery expansive Sagittarius, the emphasis in general is to stretch your boundaries, take bold and decisive action steps, heart and mind opening wide, exploring new possibilities to broaden horizons, dreaming big and shooting for the stars.

I trust that the card you choose will help focus your intentions for the next moon cycle.

I offered these free herbal tarot readings back in September when I launched my new herbal astro tarot reading service. I've loved receiving such wonderful feedback from so many of you. So I'm considering doing these on a more regular basis to coincide with the new moon.

I've also been delighted to offer herbal astro tarot sessions with some of you already one to one on Skype and in person in Edinburgh during the past couple of months.

These readings come with explanation and pdf of your astrology birth chart, a one to one 90min herbal tarot reading with a high resolution image emailed after the session, and a personalised herbal tea blend based on your focus and the outcomes of your reading.

An astro herbal tarot tea is posted or delivered to you in the following week to enjoy their healing benefits and continue to reflect on what comes up afterwards.

Now on to your new moon reading...

Your New Moon Herbal Tarot Reading ~ Card no 1

New Moon in Sagittarius Herbal Tarot Reading

You chose card no 1 ~ Nine of Pentacle ~ Dark Grapes

A woman sits amongst her grape vines, dressed in all her finery and enjoying the fruits of her efforts.

The Nine of Pentacles card recognises you for all your hard work and determination. You have planted seeds in the past, lovingly nurtured and tended to them as they grew over a long period of time through sunny spells and times of hardship, your persistence eventually pays off.

You can afford to take more breaks just now. Feeling stable and secure, you can invest more in yourself at this time as you are supported in more ways than one, allowing yourself to enjoy some luxuries. Be aware of a possible tendency to excess however, but this is a time for you to celebrate life and our earth's abundant gifts!

You may also feel you are in a position to give more to others at this time, knowing the struggles we have all experienced to different degrees, whether it is generosity in the form of material gifts, emotional and moral support, or simply advice based on your own trials and errors.

The Dark Grapes indicated in the card are symbolic of abundance and fertility, slightly reminiscent of the opulence of Ancient Greeks. In Greek mythology, Dionysus (or Bacchus in Roman mythology) is often depicted with bunches of grapes and revered as the God of wine.

In herbal medicine, the dark pigmentation in the skin of red or black grapes, called anthocyanins have a strong antioxidant effect on our body's cells, promoting healing and regeneration. These constituents have been shown to help boost cognitive function, reduce inflammation, prevent various diseases, protecting against environmental stress and support healthy cardiovascular function.

Grape seed extracts have similar benefits. These have also been studied and used to help promote skin healing, support healthy musculoskeletal tissue growth and as a cancer preventive. Cold pressed grape seed oil is commonly used on skin as a light massage base oil by many bodywork therapists.

Why not treat yourself and household to a bunch or two of grapes? If you enjoy a glass of wine, treat yourself and a friend to a bottle of good quality red wine and toast to your good health and success.

Enjoyment is a key word. There may be temptations to overdo things with this card especially as we head into the festive season, so explore fun and healthy ways to eat, drink and be merry... and share the abundance!

Healing blessings,
Fiona x

Your New Moon Herbal Tarot Reading ~ Card no 2

New Moon in Sagittarius Herbal Tarot Reading

You chose card no 2 ~ Knight of Wands ~ Aconite

A Knight strides out his latest a mission, a wooden staff slung over his shoulder, travelling light in the sunny countryside. He encounters the a highly poisonous Aconite plant (aka Monkshood or Wolf's Bane).

The Knight of Wands card is perfect for the Sagittarius new moon as it corresponds exactly to the qualities of Sagittarius, therefore potentiating these qualities of broadening horizons, exploring new possibilities and activities, opportunities to learn and possibly travel for the cycle ahead.

The Wands suit represent fire, symbolic of taking action, energy, inspiration, and the Knights symbolic of adventure, courage, a carefree spirit. The Sagittarius symbol is a centaur, half horse, half man, holding a bow and arrow, pointing upwards to the heavens and setting sights high

Like the Knight, centaurs are warriors, with a fire in their heart and bellies, ready to discover foreign lands and encounter new and exotic experiences. This is a time of exploration and discovery, a time to be fearless.

A sense of confidence in your own abilities, with faith and trust in the universe accompanies this card, but there is also a warning.

The Aconite plant indicated in the card is a truly exotic, intriguing and beautiful plant, but its distinctive flower on close inspection looks almost like an alien's head. The hood mimics the knight's helmet, suggesting that despite its humble plant status, it's equal to the destructive strength and power of his warrior opponent.

Aconite is a deadly poison in even relatively small amounts. Ingesting it can cause nausea, vomiting, intense, burning pain, paralysis, heart irregularities, breathing difficulties and even death.

It's called Wolf's Bane as historically it was mixed with bait to kill wolves. Gardeners have reported numbness, tingling and burning of the arms, even just gathering up the cut plant with bare arms.

Experienced herbalists may use this plant (known as a Schedule 20 herb, not available over the counter and to be used with utmost care and caution) but very few take the risk. It is used only externally blended in very specific amounts with other preparations as a pain relief.

In this reading, the symbolism suggests that mindfulness and care must balance eager optimism, bravery and a carefree attitude. These qualities can make you feel invincible, powerful like a superhero... But be aware of your personal Achille's heel or Kryptonite.

On the other hand, the Knight of Wand represents an inclination to boldly go where no man or woman has gone before, and provides opportunities for new discoveries and innovations

This card helps us learn to balance our fiery sides with a skillful humility and respect for the unknown. With this awareness, you can safely shoot for the stars and quite possibly end up there!

Healing blessings,
Fiona x

Your New Moon Herbal Tarot Reading ~ Card no 3

New Moon in Sagittarius Herbal Tarot Reading

You chose card no 3 ~ Queen of Pentacles ~ Marshmallow

A Queen sits on a bank by an expanse of water looking noble and reflective communing with a soft leaved blossoming Marshmallow plant.

The Queen of Pentacles represents a more feminine representation of the mastery of the earth element. The earth element (represented as the suit of Pentacles, like large oversized coins) relates to matters of feeling grounded and earthy, such as stability, security, finances, fertility and abundance

As a Queen, she has journeyed through all the stages of development and learning of the earthly realms experienced the highs and lows of scarcity/lack of stability and abundance/security. At the level of the Queen she is able to mentor others and become a gentle guide.

If these sorts of issues have been concerning you, this card appears to suggest a new approach, a more feminine approach. Like the soft leaves and sweet tasting soothing root of the Marshmallow plant, the Queen counsels us to take a softer gentler approach to handling these matters.

We live in a fast paced modern world, where slowing down is often perceived as weakness. The Queen of Pentacles gives us permission to slow down. In doing so, we may gain a renewed clarity and perspective of our inner wisdom, reflected in our waters of the smooth still lake within our heart.

Instead of the more masculine and forceful attitude of the King, the Queen's wisdom is in having the humility and openness to receive materially and be supported

The Queen does not take everything upon herself and carry heavy burdens, but has learned to delegate and take healing time and space to gather energy and resources so that she can give her abundant gifts back in return when the time is right... In its own sweet slow leisurely time.

The Marshmallow plant in herbal medicine is one of the greatest soothing remedies to irritated tissues anywhere in the body. Where there is dryness and soreness, it will bring moisture like a gentle balm, whether it is dry skin, irritated throat and lungs, dryness in the digestive system and bowel, this herb brings comfort and relief.

Not all medicines need to be bitter and unpleasant to take. Marshmallow encourages us to sweeten up and soften up and can be a powerful healing remedy where possibly harsher attempts have failed.

This card encourages us to create the time and space to receive, try a more feminine approach, giving ourselves the queenly sacred self care and support that not only we deserve, but need in order to feel grounded enough to grow, thrive and inspire others in turn.

Healing blessings,
Fiona x
